Residents from North Carolina Nursing Homes Search for Pen Pals

On June 25, Victorian Senior Care, a nursing home in North Carolina, posted sweet photos of residents from various nursing homes in the area looking for pen pals.

The social distancing measures in various states have greatly affected visitation rules in many nursing homes. As a way to help nursing home residents feel less lonely and more connected to others, Victorian Senior Care initiated a pen pal search via social media.

In their post, they said

"We hate that we are not able to have our normal visitors due to COVID-19 restrictions, so we at Phoenix Assisted Care would like to pass the time by writing our pen pals!
Send a letter to the address listed below with my name as the recipient. Can't wait to hear from you!"

Extending the 'pen pal initiative' to other North Carolina nursing homes

What's more is that the initiative wasn't just for Phoenix Assisted Care.

Victorian Senior Care posted a series of updates, sharing that more pen pals are wanted for residents of other nursing homes and assisted living facilities in North Carolina.
